For context, I first put in my coin in the mix back in August of 2018, so it's been a bit more than a year waiting for this to arrive. Was it worth the wait? Is it the best posing figure ever?
Time will tell with respect to the best posing figure ever, but it's the best I've come across and it was definitely worth the wait.

So, what is it? It's Stickybones! A extremely versatile and posable figure that made its way onto Indiegogo a couple of years ago. They have a few waves of manufacturing and releases and mine was in the most recent 3rd wave. Based on the website, they're in pre-order mode, but it's a little unclear as to what's next based on what I can see from the website. I certainly hope that they bring it out in greater volume. [Update: Based on the email I got, it looks like they'll have a permanent storefront opening on September 2nd]

In any event, I've had a little time to play around with it and so my immediate general impressions are:
  • Easy to assemble, but definitely worth watching the video, as they recommend. It's well paced, easy to follow, and does provide some good tips on best assembly approach.
  • It is larger than I thought! If you recall my Body-chan review I thought this might be in that size ballpark, but no, it's much bigger and much more sturdy feeling.
  • Comes with a metallic base to stand, the hands and feet have magnets that allow for some great posing options (such as handstands) and the magnets are quite strong.
  • I added the fly rig and I'm really glad I did, it adds a lot of options for posing.
  • Only 3 fingers. Not a big deal, but does feel a bit weird.
  • The fingers come off fairly easily, so be cautious in posing them so as not to lose them. I had one mad floor hunt already.
So I haven't done a lot with it yet, just playing around with the poses and getting comfortable with handling it. All I can say is, thumbs up, this drawing aid is all that and a bag of chips.

I should have bought two...
